About the show

Chicago Tails will take viewers on an exploration of all things pertaining to pets in Chicago each week. Whether you have a furry friend or not, stay tuned to see local celebrities with their pets, discover services and locales that cater to animal lovers, and learn about some important animal welfare issues too. Tatiana is Director of Community Outreach for The Anti-Cruelty Society, Chicago’s oldest and largest private nonprofit animal welfare organization. Hear from some of the Society’s resident experts and see some pets currently in need of a loving forever home.

About the host: Tatiana grew up with Borzoi, a rescued Standard Poodle, cats, hamsters, parrots, rabbits, guinea pigs, and an iguana… just to name a few pets. She began her professional career with animals in 1995 at Brookfield Zoo. Tatiana has studied wild dolphins in Australia and rescued wildlife in Florida, but she always says that people are truly at the heart of her work. The welfare of people and animals is connected through a shared environment and the same traits of empathy and compassion that make someone a good pet owner also simply make people better neighbors and citizens. If it walks, hops, or slithers, Tatiana cares about it. She currently oversees the Humane Education programs at The Anti-Cruelty Society.
